DARDAN SHORT AND DOCUMENTARY INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST - DSDIFF
Aims to organize its debut edition in October taking place in Tirana. This activity with an artistic and cultural character, aspires to start its journey and to be a longlasting tradition, like many similar activities taking place in the country, in Europe and all over the world. The layout and inclusion of cinematic works with an artistic and documentary-type character, is in everyday life a resemblance of different problems. The main topics that makes this festival unique is its thematic, Urbanization, Development, Civilization. The works must focus on the urban development of the cities all over the world.
Audience
MAIN AUDIENCE
The audience will be of a variety of ages, interests and social classes, who will be brought in by the variety of subjects presented during the festival, but also by the wide variety of activities taking place. There will also be outdoor activities, not only to grow popularity, but also to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for the audience and the coincidental public. There will also be not only directors but also painters, composers, writers and others.
What will be included in the festival?
This festival being a promotion chance for both, students and professional authors, variety will be one of the strong points of this activity. Also during this activity, taking into consideration the topics which will be present in the festival, a case about certain communities will take place. We might present the audience with topics related to communities in need, people with disabilities, cases related to minorities and different ethnicities not only in Albania, etc. The participation in this Film Festival will include cinematographic works from US, Europe, Asia etc. The works will be from the last 3 years, but also premieres will be shown at this first edition. The expectations regarding the projects that will be collected during this Festival are up to 200 materials.
The objectives

- Exchange of experiences during a lecture between Albanian and foreign cinematography students taking part in the festival.
- Exchange of teaching and creativity-boosting methods between Albanian and foreign students taking part in the festival.
- Exchange of experiences and creation of friendships between the pedagogical staff of the Albanian University of Arts and foreign universities taking part in the festival. (professors from the “scenic art branch” in the Albanian University of Arts as well as their homologous from different countries will also take part in the festival).

- Exchange of experiences through workshops organized along with the festival between local and foreign authors.
- Creating possibilities for collaboration and co-production between local and foreign creators.
- Making the spread and promotion of Albanian cinematographic art through authors from the foreign participants in the festival.

“Cinema has always been part of my interests as a businessman. For years Dardan Studio supports film productions aiming to help talented filmmakers and their work.
On the other hand, as part of our goal, Dardan Fest 2020 will serve as a platform for all filmmakers to tell interesting stories that mostly reflect the struggle for emancipation through the art of film.
We are alredy making this edition a special event with films from all around the globe and I am confident on the future outcome of the festival. Great artists and film directors joined us in these efforts, giving us the certainty that Dardan Fest 2020 will be a wonderful experience”.
